  • Event Banners Tips

    event planning banners1

Got an event or party to plan for, but don't know where to start? Banners are a good place to begin. People may underestimate the importance of event banners; however, they will come in your favor during the process of planning your event, we promise! You can knock out so many questions just by using a simple vinyl banner, like the one pictured above. Putting a banner up a few weeks before an event can answer questions like "Where or when is the event?" or "What type of event is it?" without even having to interact with the attendees. Talk about taking off some weight off your shoulders!

Important Things to Include in a Banner:

    1. Name of the Event

First and foremost, if you're going to include one thing on a banner it should be the name of the event. The name of the event is important in so many obvious ways. It will not only help the viewers to search the event online if they are interested, but it will also allow them to get a feel of what the event is all about. Like the banner pictured above, "Fiesta" says it all! Any viewer will know it's going to be a fun time.

    2. Date and Time of the Event

Ok, this one's a given. People need to check their availability before they even commit. Adding the dates and times of the event will definitely make it easier on people and we all know when something is simple and easy, it lures us more. This banner could have included a more specific date to avoid any confusion, but it still works!

    3. Location

Leaving a small space for the location of your event is helpful as well. It helps people get an idea of where the event is and if they are close enough to attend.

    4. Intriguing Graphic

An intriguing graphic always catches the eye.  Bright colors, cool graphics, and some fancy fonts will top it off. The OLPH Annual Fiesta banner has all of the above. Remember, banners are to grab the attention of people, so they could attend the specific event. If your banner is lacking some color, it won't be noticed, which loses its purpose.

It's important to include the small details on informative banners to not only take some weight off your shoulders as an event planner, but also to avoid confused people. We love helping these events come together to make your event planning process easier. Harvest America is one of their upcoming events and they are getting ready! Harvest America is an annual event they hold in Texas, open to thousands of people through streaming as well. It brings together Christians all over the nation to proclaim the gospel. Harvest America hopes to influence and leave a mark on a nation desperately in need of hope. Special top Christian artists like Chris Tomlin and Switchfoot will be performing. Also, there will be a message from Greg Laurie.

Harvest bannerNow, many of you may be wondering who Greg Laurie is. He's the man on the huge vinyl event banner we made for them! But for reals, he's the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California and Harvest Orange County. He began his ministry at 19 and now leads millions of people through large public events- Harvest Crusades. We created quite a few banners or Harvest America, and also added grommets so they can easily be hung up during the event! Can't wait to see how they all turn out.

CBU wrestling team presents another year where the Lancers will be "taking it outside." "Take it Outside" is an event that CBU started in 2014, with their match against Stanford University and was extremely successful. CBU started this even in the hopes to expand the wrestling community and bring elite college wrestlers to the Inland Empire. It attracted over 2,000 people, beating the record for an outdoor college dual. Ever since "Take it Outside I" people have been long awaiting for this second dual. This event has gained coverage all over the wrestling community including USA Wrestling, NCAA, and The Press Enterprise.

Bringing back the "Take it Outside" event this year, CBU will be holding a dual against the Bakersfield Roadrunners on November 14, 2015 at 12 PM on their front lawn. This event not only is a dual between Bakersfield, but also an event to bring together the wrestling community. Last year, there were well- known guest martial artists like Urijah Faber and many food trucks, making it a full blown event. To top it off, "Take it Outside" is a free event. CBU hopes to come out even better this year with new special guest appearances (TBA).

CBU's extremely talent athletes have wont many championships over the year such as, National Collegiate Wrestling Association in 2011. Although Bakersfield is a tough team, CBU is excited and pumped to be giving it their all! We had the opportunity to create the outdoor event banners for CBU's wrestling event. We created three fairly large banners to be hung up outside the front lawn, where the match will be taking place. One with three of their athletes, another displaying the team they are versing, and one displaying the dates. We're excited to see the outcome of this dual, and hope for the best. Good luck Cal Baptist University!
